On December 30th, throughout the past, there have been many interesting vents. In 1862. the USS Monitor sank. The USS Monitor was the first ironclad of the Union during the Civil War. The USS Monitor fought the Confederate ship to a standstill, but sank later during a storm. In 1965, Ferdinand Marcos became President of the Philippines, and through one means or another remained in power until 1986.
