Each year, the Flagstaff Outdoors Club takes a canoe and kayak trip through Black Canyon, beginning at Hoover Dam and paddling south, eleven miles to Willow Beach.February, 2010, was my first time on this trip, and here I'll share information and some photos as well as other helpful links.

Here, let me drive. We'll begin on the west side of town and take Route 66 east through Flagstaff, until it departs towards Winona, where it disappears once again under Interstate 40. I'll point out some of the highlights on the way across town and make just a few detours to show you what's close to this surviving and thriving section of the historic 'Mother Road.

Saint Felix is a lovely little town situated on a hill top in the Haute Garronne department of the Midi-Pyrenees. Its location affords it some wonderful views across the French countryside into the Languedoc Roussillon region where the Pyrenees act as a fabulous backdrop to the already impressive views.

The town makes the most of this position and has built a 'table de orientation' at the edge
I was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium. It is my Home Town. Unfortunately, Brussels underwent major changes during these last years, this is what urged me to leave. However, I always loved this town and still do. Brussels is a beautiful town, founded in the late 900; which means it is more than 1000 years old. The town hosts the most beautiful place in the world: the Grand Place and its marvel

There's lots to do in this small city at 7,000 feet, with the San Francisco Peaks in our backyard and the Grand Canyon only an hour and a half away. Revel was graced by the presence of John Burton Race the famous chef who lived for a year or so in this region when he made the program French Leave and who po

Montpellier is one of the nicest cities in France that I have visited to date. It is the capital of Languedoc Roussillon and has a truly cosmopolitan air to it, the feeling you get as you stroll around the 'centre historique' is that of an over riding 'cafe culture' where good quality eating and drinking establishments are in abundant supply, this is chilling out French style which isn't bad for
